Anthrax confirmed in cows from western North Dakota

Two Angus cows from western North Dakota tested positive for anthrax by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) at the laboratory Friday, August 9. Infection in the animals was confirmed by culture the same day. The cows were part of a group of 14 animals found dead over the preceding two days.
