Three cattle (one bull, two cows) from western North Dakota tested positive for Bacillus anthracis (Anthrax) by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) at the laboratory Tuesday, September 1. Infection was confirmed by culture the following day. The cattle were part of a group animals found dead over the past week.
