North Dakota Vetrinary Diagnostic Lab

We now offer 3 options for mycotoxin testing

1.  Mycotoxin LC/MS/MS screen for corn, grains, silage, forage, hay, DDG and TMR with lower detection limits.

Aflatoxin B1, B2, G1 and G2, T-2 toxin, Ochratoxin A and Sterigmatocystin at 20 ppb (0.02 ppm).
Fumonisin B1, B2, HT-2 toxin, and DON (vomitoxin) at 200 ppb (0.2 ppm).
Zearalenone at 50 ppb (0.05 ppm).
Cost: $150
Amount required:100gm (quart size bag of grain, gallon size bag of silage, forage, hay).
Expected turn-around time:3-5 days.
This test will replace the full mycotoxin screen previously offered.

2.  DON (Vomitoxin) panel by GC/MS for corn, grains, silage, forage, hay, DDG and TMR.

DON (vomitoxin), 15-ADON, 3-ADON, Nivalenol, and Zearalenone at detection limit of 0.5 ppm (500 ppb).
Cost:$50
Amount required: 100gm (quart bag of grain, gallon bag of silage, forage and hay).
Expected turn-around time: 3-5 days.
This test will replace the DON only method that was previously offered.

3.  Aflatoxin B1 only by HPLC for corn, grains, silage, forage, hay, DDG and TMR.

Detection limit 20 ppb.
Cost: $40
Amount required: 100 gm (quart size bag of grain, gallon sized bay of silage, forage and hay).
Expected turn-around time: 3-5 days.

Effective Oct 15, 2015.

Prices will be the same for both in-state and out-of-state submissions.

Submission forms are available on our website: www.vdl.ndsu.edu/forms

The Trichothecene screen and the Fumonisin only test will be discontinued. We hope that the new mycotoxin screen will reflect the mycotoxins of current concern and that the lower detection levels will be helpful.
