Bacteriology
Performs a wide range of microbiological examinations to determine
the presence and significance of bacteria and fungi present from animal
sources. We determine which are normal microflora and identify the
disease-causing agents and perform antibiotic susceptibilities as
requested.

Clinical Pathology
Performs clinical testing on samples including tests such as blood
differentials, fecal parasitology testing, stone analysis, and urinalysis.

Histology
Offers next-day output of slides and stains for diagnostic purposes.
Formalin fixed specimens arrive over the counter, U.P.S., or by mail
and are grossed for processing overnight. Much emphasis is placed on
timely and proper fixation to insure a good sample for histological
processing. A wide range of special stains are available.

:: Serology
Diagnostic Serologists/Microbiologists perform a large variety of testing
procedures to determine herd health status information as well as on
individual cases. Methods used include ELISA, standard plate tests, gel
diffusion testing, as well as a variety of other techniques. Whole herds
are often tested for Brucella, for example, for regulatory purposes.

Toxicology
This laboratory sees a high volume of cases and test for any toxins
that are present in anything from feed samples to tissue samples.
Much highly specialized and technical equipment is used such as the
mass spectrophotometer to enable the high accuracy and quality of the
results obtained.
